After toying around with the Samsung E715, I decided to sell it on eBay and get another cellular phone that would also work in Europe and Japan.
Now, in front of me sitting comfortably on a pillow and happily recharging is a brand-new Nokia 6600 GSM/GPRS that runs on the Symbian platform. It's a Series 60 and I am truly impressed with this phone! It has a camera that does video and pictures. I can sign on it and e-mail it to my deaf ASL'er friends who cannot understand typed instructions. Now, if SpinNotes could allow me to send in videos...
Using the new Agile Messenger software, I got on AOL AIM and I was able to send pictures of my desk directly to AIM (it shows up as a link on Instant Messaging and the person on the other side can click it). I am going to do the same thing while in Germany in June and London in July. One problem - for some reason - it will NOT send to anybody who has @mac next to their names. I don't know what the problem is and that was the same problem with the Samsung using a different AIM software. I think Boult is the only one on DOL who has the @mac. I even sent Banjo a picture of my desk after I cleaned it up a bit. LOVELY! I just LOVE it! No keyboards like Sidekick but only if deaf people could just learn how to use the T9 messaging, it's so much easier!
One problem, it can be very distracting. I was playing a game of PacMan and it looked like the real thing. I downloaded it off the internet and I was trying to eat up the blue goblins. When the goblins turned back to their normal colours, I had to try to run away from them. Right before I could get to the last big ball that turns the goblins back to blue, I looked up and nearly hit a UPS truck that was going 40 miles an hour up the hill and I was doing 75. Scared the crap outta me. Do NOT play PacMan whilst driving! Mark my words.
