Full Version: New Phone - I LOVE IT!

Wiggums
After toying around with the Samsung E715, I decided to sell it on eBay and get another cellular phone that would also work in Europe and Japan.

Now, in front of me sitting comfortably on a pillow and happily recharging is a brand-new Nokia 6600 GSM/GPRS that runs on the Symbian platform. It's a Series 60 and I am truly impressed with this phone! It has a camera that does video and pictures. I can sign on it and e-mail it to my deaf ASL'er friends who cannot understand typed instructions. Now, if SpinNotes could allow me to send in videos...

Using the new Agile Messenger software, I got on AOL AIM and I was able to send pictures of my desk directly to AIM (it shows up as a link on Instant Messaging and the person on the other side can click it). I am going to do the same thing while in Germany in June and London in July. One problem - for some reason - it will NOT send to anybody who has @mac next to their names. I don't know what the problem is and that was the same problem with the Samsung using a different AIM software. I think Boult is the only one on DOL who has the @mac. I even sent Banjo a picture of my desk after I cleaned it up a bit. LOVELY! I just LOVE it! No keyboards like Sidekick but only if deaf people could just learn how to use the T9 messaging, it's so much easier!

One problem, it can be very distracting. I was playing a game of PacMan and it looked like the real thing. I downloaded it off the internet and I was trying to eat up the blue goblins. When the goblins turned back to their normal colours, I had to try to run away from them. Right before I could get to the last big ball that turns the goblins back to blue, I looked up and nearly hit a UPS truck that was going 40 miles an hour up the hill and I was doing 75. Scared the crap outta me. Do NOT play PacMan whilst driving! Mark my words.
Lantana
You mean the UPS truck was NOT parked in the middle of the street??

I swear, those guys must pay the cops off to get by with so much!

'Interesting about your new phone, camera, whatsit? I will argue this with some of my ASL friends. All they talk about is Video phones!

I guess that the new software you got "Agile Messenger" may not be compatible with those Aim users with @mac in their screenname. I thought AOL does provide AIM software for cell phone that will work with any @mac users hmm..

It was a diesel powered UPS truck. I could have heard the motor and looked up, thereby moving in time without having to do a hard swerve to the right and going over the dirt. My car was practically outta control for about 15 seconds and finally got back on the road. Of course, if the UPS truck was electric, that'd even the field wink.gif

And that PacMan, mind you, was a very fun game! I know it was a stupid thing to do but I had it for only 2 hours and was constantly thrilled at discovering new features every 5 minutes.

The nice thing is that Agile Messenger also goes into MSN, Yahoo, etc. It also vibrates and I really love being able to send live pictures straight out of my digital camera to people on AOL. I had AOL's own AIM on my Samsung, but the @mac never came out right. It has been a big problem for a while and it's frustrating

mf_laughbounce3.gif @ Wiggums, Mark and Lantana. Yep, Wiggums and some of you guys love their expensive toys! Ya can't drive and play at the same time! whack.gif

Hmmm, maybe if I can talk to my sons about this kind of phone and work out a vertag.gif so we have have a peace in mind. I can't afford it all by myself! sad.gif

Thanks, Wiggums for your great info. wink.gif

There's a few...

http://www.nokiausa.com/phones/6600

To get on AOL AIM or MSN, among other instant messaging services, it's this website that allows you to send pictures straight out of the cellphone. I was able to do that on my recent trip to Florida.
