I am a retired 70 year old engineer. I need better hearing aids to enable me to better understand TV, my wife, and my grandchildren.
Here are the typical results of my most recent hearing test.

Frequency 250 500 1000 2000 4000 8000

Right Ear w/o aid -15 -20 -20 -30 -65 -90

Left Ear w/o aid -20 -40 -50 -60 -70 -90

What would you recommend for me?

I am presently wearing Siemens BTE Phoenix 204s

I would like something that is programmable by the audiologist like my old analog Resound BTEs were.

The ReSound units were great from 1995 to about 2003. In 2003 I had an event (a gun shot) that damaged my hearing even more than it was before and the Resound units did not have enough power to help.

When the audiologist set the gain up enough to help the feedback was unacceptable.

The Siemens 204 are better but I am still not happy.

I have moved this topic to appropriate place instead of in "Introduction" section. but I am not sure if you are looking for digital or analog type. even thou both can be programmable type. so I am assuming you want to go for digital programmable type.
(indeed Siemens 204 is digital which I just checked it out so this is right place)
So how about checking into Sonovation at http://avrsono.com/

Is your chart showing moderate to severe? or what?

oh by the way, we do have our resident audie here that may help you point in right direction that is... LittlePitty (IMG:http://www.deafonline2.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Be sure to use either "FastReply or AddReply" instead of "Reply" if you don't want to reply to yourself but can use that to reply to other.

I'll delete and clean your last post if you don't mind.

Anyway, I don't know which is better choice or better in terms of $$ because you really need to see a audie and have them tell you which will be beneficial to you.
